Bhaunyara (Rajakhet), Tehri Garhwal, June 21, 2018: The Ananda Vatika Green Gurukulam (AVGG) is celebrating the International Yoga Day (IYD) today under the guidance of the young and dynamic Yoga Guru and practitioner – Shweta Rawat-Roth.
The IYD or commonly referred to as Yoga Day, is celebrated annually on 21 June since its inception in 2015. The IYD was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Ms Anita Nautiyal, the AVGG Co-founder and Principal, Ms Shweta Rawat-Roth is a trained Yoga Guru who has volunteered to teach some of the basic Yoga practices to the AVGG students on the International Yoga Day, today.
Ms Shweta, who will soon leave India to join her husband in the US, believes that the spiritualism in Yoga provides contentment and fulfilment in their absolute senses and regulates the human body, mind and soul.
Ms Shweta agrees with the opinion thatYoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice and it has nothing to do with any religion. According to her, it is all about physical, mental and spiritual enhancement of human beings.
She also agrees that Yoga is absolutely about progressing towards a life dependent on ecological wisdom and says that the eight limbs of one of the Yoga streams – Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi – are vital for the intellectual development of human beings.
“All these organic elements teach us so many things including Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharya, and Aparigraha and are key to a successful life based on the ecological wisdom with all deeper and philosophical meanings of the Yoga Shastra,” emphasises Ms Shweta Rawat-Roth!
